Bulgarian bat bite
Bulgarian Bat Bite was written in 2003 as a commission by the Quartetto Italiano di Clarinetti. It is an adaption and expansion of the composer´s 1992 duet, Khyberian Catfit, which is included in his 10 Klezmer Duos, published by Advance Music of Germany. The Duo‘s name referred to the antics of the family cat, Khyber, without alluding to the Balkan influences upon the composers following a summer, 1992, klezmer tour to Eastern Europe. The quartet´s name is more representative.
Gimme Five! (Clarinet)
Here comes Julian

Idea In Latin
Bb Clarinet 1-3, Bb Bass Clarinet. A snappy composition featuring melodies typical of the popular Latin style. The bass line surfs along in the foreground performing a number of solos.

3-movement suite for four B flat clarinets: I. Relaxin (easy swing), II. Night Music (relaxed blues), III. Southern Exposure (Latin). Medium easy
Joie de Vivre
Laurie Holloway says: "Joie de Vivre reflects exactly how I was feeling at the time of composition. I felt full of the good life and happy to be alive. Fortunately I still feel that way. It was originally a solo for me on piano and then it was performed on television by a flautist accompanied by me, and now it is where it should be, with your clarinet quartet. The movements are all joyful and will hopefully reflect your 'Joie de Vivre' ".
Klezmer Jam
Bb Clarinet 1-3, Bb Bass Clarinet. The piece starts off moving fast and without any prelude because everyone has a long story to tell. Who can do it better? Who can play faster? That’s the point when musicians come together – for a jam session.
